The R Gator Forex indicator for Metatrader 4 is a popular trend indicator that works well under most market conditions.
R Gator consists of three colored signals lines (red, green, blue) with different period (fast, medium, slow).
Trading trends with R Gator is very simple and goes as follows:
- A buy trend occurs when the red fast R Gator signal line crosses above the green medium signal line and blue slow signal line AND the green signal line is positioned above the red signal line.
- A sell trend occurs when the red fast R Gator signal line crosses below the green medium signal line and blue slow signal line AND the green signal line is positioned below the red signal line.

Finding Buy and Sell Triggers With R Gator Forex Trend Technical Analysis Chart Indicator
Below is an example of how to buy and sell currency pairs with this Forex indicator:
Buy Trigger: Open buy trade when the R Gator indicator red signal line crosses and closes above the green and blue line AND the green line is positioned above the blue line.
Place stop loss below previous swing support, or use your own stop loss placement method.
Close the buy trade for a reward to risk 1.5:1 ratio or better, or use your own favorite take profit method.
Alternatively, close the R Gator buy trade for a fixed take profit target, for example, 25 pips on the 5-minute scalper chart.
Sell Trigger: Open sell trade when the R Gator indicator red signal line crosses and closes below the green and blue line AND the green line is positioned below the blue line.
Place stop loss above previous swing resistance, or use your own stop loss placement method.
Close the sell trade for a reward to risk 1.5:1 ratio or better, or use your own favorite take profit method.
Alternatively, close the R Gator sell trade for a fixed take profit target, for example, 70 pips on the 1-hour swing trader chart.
